    Pediatrics Nurse Practitioner

    Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine, Department of Pediatrics and Human Development is searching for a full-time Pediatrics Nurse Practitioner, with specialty in Pulmonary. The minimum requirements are: Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing one or two years of post-bachelor degree work such as a master's in nursing; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in direct nursing care as a pediatric nurse practitioner (PNP); or an equivalent combination of education and experience; possession of a current license to practice as a registered nurse and specialty certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Michigan; certification by the American Nurses' Association as a pediatric nurse practitioner.

    Desired qualifications: Experience in pediatric pulmonary clinical practice; experience working with patients with Cystic Fibrosis; administrative and supervisory experience; effective interpersonal and communication skills; experience with electronic medical record.

    Job responsibilities are: Will function as a pediatric nurse practitioner in the Pediatric Pulmonary Division; provides direct patient care and management/administrative oversight of the division; development and monitoring of clinical practice guidelines, policies, procedures, and the interface with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation protocols; assists physicians at all clinical locations.

    This position is located off-campus at the Sparrow Professional Building, E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing, MI. Duties associated with this position involve exposure to human biological specimens and TB risk or working within three feet of patients in a health care setting; involves lifting up to 65 pounds.
