Faculty and staff of the Michigan State University Department of Pediatrics and Human Development gathered on September 9, 2009, to review the year's progress and look ahead to 2010.
New faculty were recognized, including Shiv Pawar, MD; Kripa Thaku, MD, and Michael Stiffler, MD in General Pediatrics; Myrtha Gregorier-Bottex in Pulmonology; Andy Homa, MD, Child Psychiatry; and Brian Scutte, PhD, in Genetics. Two retiring faculty members were thanked: Dr. Maria Patterson and Dr. Rachel Fisher who will retire in December. Jonathan Gold, MD, was congratulated on his promotion to Associate Professor.
Susan B. Treadway, Supervisor of Cytogenetics, was presented with the 2009 Department of Pediatrics and Human Development Support Staff Recognition Award. Kathy Bosma was also recognized for her contributions to the department.
