Pediatric Cardiology

Our Division of Pediatric Cardiology offers a wide-range of non-invasive cardiology services to the mid-Michigan community.  Our clinics are held at the Sparrow Professional Building.  Our clinic charts are stored in an electronic medical record format.  We offer inpatient consultative services at Sparrow Hospital, which has a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and a 30-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.  Teaching responsibilities include medical student and resident teaching, along with teaching of neonatology and adult cardiology fellows. Cardiologic testing is performed both at the MSU Clinical Center and at Sparrow Hospital.  We perform approximately 100 fetal echocardiograms per year, including patients referred from the Sparrow Hospital Perinatal Center.  In addition we have a monthly Carson City Hospital Outreach Clinic.  Patients requiring open-heart surgical procedures are referred elsewhere for their surgery and we have a close working relationship with these referral centers.  Our faculty are also actively involved in advocacy efforts through the Michigan Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and the Michigan State Medical Society.
